The horizontal beam is supported by the lag-screws from single one-sided plate only. Unless the beam is not carrying the roof bearing load, the beam-end shear and rotation should be checked prior to the design of its supporting connection.

Any load on the side beam?
If so, this is a bad detail. It already looks like it has a split forming (horizontal from the lag screw).

The load is, not too much, applied at the side member (110 plf) spanning 12 ft.
However, this does not eliminate the connection design requirements.
The contractor changed the original connector design and this was the end results.
