Egress Window

If you want to create a new egress window opening in the existing basement wall, how would you do it?

Example house showing a proposed window opening is needed for the light exposure desired per a home owner.
(Location of the new opening is to the right of the water meter.)

One way to create an egress window opening at the existing basement wall:

- Typically, there is an existing concrete basement wall
- Figure out which way the first floor framing is orientating
- Install a steel angle frame around the proposed opening
