It is very common to use stair and walkway framings to access the apartment units.
What are the common problems and how should you consider them in your design?

-Stair framing design (type and system)
-Walkway framing (slab thickness and steel deck types)
-Cantilever support
-Stair to walkway connections
-How should we fix the problems
-Others (?)

Ken,

Is this one of your current projects?

What is the main problem? Steel corrosion? Cracked concrete?

Yes, this was one of my previous projects to find the solution to reinforce/repair the existing framing subject to weather-related conditions.

The deck and stair framings both showed the existing structure was under the sever weather-related conditions. And I think this may bring a reminder in designing the similar structure.
