How to preserve a historic structure? (ex. 100 years old wood workshop)

-Location Boulder, CO
-Roof rafters (Note: Not using rigid board)
-Barn-roof like framing method (Where is the collar tie?)
-Birdsmouth cuts (What are they?)
-Bracing requirements (Let-in brace?)
-Wood-to-post connection (Is this ok?)
-Post connection (What do you think?)
